Digital Asset Management Brightcove Integration

Executive summary

Our customer from the manufacturing industry sought to unify video asset management to enhance efficiency and customer experience. Faced with the challenge of managing video assets separately in their Digital Asset Management (DAM) system (OpenText™ Digital Asset Management) and Brightcove, they aimed to streamline workflows by creating a single source of truth. Through a collaborative integration effort, they successfully consolidated Brightcove’s video streaming and analytics capabilities into their DAM, enabling seamless management from a single interface. This integration reduced redundant processes, improved user satisfaction, and provided valuable insights into viewer engagement—all while fostering enhanced operational efficiency and setting the foundation for future customer engagement initiatives

Challenges

Our customer in the manufacturing industry faced a challenge in managing video assets across two separate platforms: OpenText™ Digital Asset Management for asset storage and metadata, and Brightcove for video publishing and analytics. This setup led to duplicate efforts, as assets had to be uploaded to both systems, and users needed to switch between platforms to access complete information, including metadata and viewer engagement metrics. This fragmented workflow created inefficiencies, increased task repetition, and limited access to a unified view of asset performance. A solution was needed to streamline processes, establish a single source of truth, and improve both operational efficiency and user experience.

Objectives

The primary objective was to integrate Brightcove with the existing system, OpenText™ Digital Asset Management, to establish a single source of truth for video assets. This integration aimed to streamline workflows by consolidating video management, publishing, and analytics capabilities within one platform, reducing duplication of effort and improving efficiency. By providing a unified system, the project sought to enhance user experience, enable seamless access to asset information, and elevate the customer’s digital asset management capabilities, ultimately supporting more effective video asset utilization and customer engagement.
